About the Killstreak design
Killstreak swaps the round GTA wheel for a hard-edged octagon. A steel frame runs around the outside with small accent points at every corner, and dark steel blades divide the eight slots so each weapon sits in its own clear sector. The panels are a smoked, semi-transparent base with fine diagonal speed stripes, so the world behind the wheel stays visible without getting in the way of the icons. When you select a weapon, its sector fills with the accent color, gets a striped hatch and corner brackets, and a small tally mark sits in the corner. The center is a matching octagon that shows the weapon name and attachment above the 3D center mark, with a short accent bar underneath. It looks like a competitive overlay, not a game menu.
Pairing it with your minimap
Killstreak is a sharp, geometric design, so it pairs best with a minimap that is just as clean: flat dark background, crisp roads, no heavy textures. On a redzone server, use the Vendetta red palette next to a black and red map where the accent marks zones or the route, and players will read red as the color of action everywhere on screen. Toxic green suits a night PvP map with lime roads, Arctic blue works with a cold tactical radar, and Ghost is the pick when your minimap is monochrome and you want the wheel to stay neutral too.
Details
- The outer frame is an octagon with accent points at all eight corners.
- Steel blades separate the sectors and give the wheel a machined, competitive look.
- Diagonal speed stripes run across the smoked base panels.
- The selected sector fills with the accent, adds a striped hatch, corner brackets and kill tally marks.
- Range ticks around the outside of the frame can be switched on or off in the studio.
Six palettes: Vendetta, Toxic, Arctic, Gold rush, Royale and Ghost. Vendetta is the classic red, while Ghost keeps everything in near-white for monochrome HUDs.
Killstreak weapon wheel FAQ
Can I turn off the stripes if my minimap is very plain?
Yes. Speed stripes, selection fill, kill tally marks and range ticks are all separate effects in the studio. If your minimap is flat and minimal, turning the stripes down leaves a clean octagon with steel blades, and the selected sector still stands out through its accent fill and corner brackets.
Which Killstreak palette works best for a redzone server?
Vendetta is the obvious choice because red already means danger on most redzone maps. If your minimap marks zones in another color, pick the palette that matches it instead, such as Toxic for green zones or Gold rush for amber, so the wheel and map send the same signal.
Does the octagon shape change how players select weapons?
No. It is still the native GTA V weapon wheel with eight slots, so TAB opens it, 1 to 8 or the mouse selects, and Q and E or the scroll wheel cycle weapons in a slot. Only the look changes, which is why players adapt to it instantly.
