About the Chrono design

Chrono is drawn like the inside of a mechanical watch. The outer rim is a gear with cut teeth in movement metal, polished steel or gold depending on the palette. Inside, the slots sit on a dark dial with a minute track around the edge, and small jewel bearings mark the spaces between weapons. Blued screws are set into the ring, the same deep blue used on fine watch movements. The center dial is engine turned, with a fine engraved pattern under the weapon name and attachment text. When a weapon is selected, its slot fills in the index color and an index pointer on the rim points to it, like a hand on a dial. The detail rewards a close look, but the slots and counts stay as clear as the stock wheel.

Pairing it with your minimap

Chrono carries a lot of fine detail, so it pairs best with a restrained minimap: a dark map with thin, precise roads in one metal tone. Steel case works with silver or white roads, Rose gold matches warm copper maps, Blue steel suits navy themes and picks up the blued screws, Emerald fits a dark green map, and Noir keeps everything black for a stealthy premium HUD. For steampunk servers, a brass or sepia map with Rose gold gives the most complete look.

Chrono weapon wheel FAQ

Is Chrono a good fit for a steampunk server?

Yes. The gear rim, jewel bearings and blued screws come straight from mechanical watches. Pair Rose gold or Steel case with a brass, sepia or vintage minimap and the HUD reads as one piece of clockwork.

Can I simplify the dial?

Engine turning, blued screws, jewel bearings, the minute track and the index pointer are all separate effects. Turning off the engine turning and minute track leaves a cleaner dial, which helps if your minimap is detailed.

Does the gear rim make the wheel larger on screen?

The gear teeth sit around the outside, so the wheel looks a little fuller. If you want it to match a compact minimap, set the wheel size to small in the studio and keep the icon size at normal.
