About the Recon design
Recon turns the whole wheel into a radar display. Thin grid lines divide the eight slots, and range rings circle outward from the center, with bearing ticks around the edge like a compass. Small blips dot the screen in a scattered pattern, glowing in the sweep color like contacts picked up by the radar. The selected slot is swept by a bright beam that trails off in bands, exactly like the arm of a radar sweeping across a target. The screen is dark and slightly transparent, so the world stays visible behind it. In the center, the weapon name and attachment sit above the 3D center mark. In the Phosphor palette it is green on black, like a classic sonar screen.
Pairing it with your minimap
Recon is the most natural partner for a radar-style minimap, since both pieces then look like two screens from the same sensor. Phosphor green matches a dark map with green roads, the classic radar look. Amber suits orange-on-black retro displays, Hostile uses red for maps with red enemy zones, Sonar brings a cyan-blue for navy maps, and White ops is white on dark for monochrome HUDs. Set the grid strength to match how heavy your map's lines are, and the two will read like one display system split in two.

Recon weapon wheel FAQ
Why does Recon suit a minimap so well?
A minimap is already a kind of radar. Recon uses the same language: range rings, grid lines and blips. With the sweep color matched to your map roads, the wheel and minimap look like two parts of one tactical display.
Can I remove the blips?
Yes. Sweep beam, blips, grid strength, blip pattern and bearing ticks are all adjustable. Without blips, Recon becomes a cleaner radar screen with rings and a sweep, which suits a detailed or busy minimap. The sweep beam still marks the selection.
Is Recon readable during the day?
The screen is dark and the icons are white, so contrast holds up in daylight. The sweep beam and blips are brightest at night. For bright servers, raise the grid strength a little so the slot divisions stay visible.
