About the Cryo design

Cryo is made of frozen glass. The eight slots are frosted panels with a soft sheen, and their edges are etched with crystal patterns like frost creeping in from the sides. Hairline cracks run through the ice in places, and a frost pattern can be layered over the panels for a heavier winter look. A cold rim light circles the outside of the wheel. The frosted edges glow faintly in the accent color, and the selected panel brightens so it stands out against the pale ice. The weapon name and attachment sit in the center above the 3D center mark. It feels clean and minimal, with just enough detail to read as ice rather than plain glass.

Pairing it with your minimap

Cryo is the obvious pick for winter and snow minimaps, and it matches them closely. Glacier suits a white and light blue snow map, Deep freeze matches a darker navy winter night map, Aurora pairs with teal and green northern-lights themes, Dry ice is neutral white and grey, and Nightfrost gives a dark wheel for servers that play mostly at night. It also works outside winter on any cold, minimal map with blue or cyan roads, where the frosted look reads as clean rather than seasonal.

Cryo weapon wheel FAQ

Is Cryo readable in snowy daylight?

The pale palettes can get bright on white snow, so for daytime snow scenes choose Deep freeze or Nightfrost, which have darker ice. You can also lower the glass sheen in the studio to keep the icons and ammo counts crisp.

Which Cryo palette matches a winter minimap?

Glacier for bright white and blue snow maps, Deep freeze for darker navy ones. Set the frost light color to the blue of your map roads and the HUD looks like one winter set. Keep the text white.

Can I use Cryo all year?

Yes. With the cracks and frost pattern turned down, Cryo is simply clean frosted glass with a cold rim, which fits any minimal HUD with blue or cyan accents. The winter look comes mostly from those optional effects.
