Setting up txAdmin for a FiveM server

txAdmin ships inside every FiveM server download. It starts, stops and watches your server, restarts it on a schedule, keeps a player database with bans and warnings, and gives staff an in-game menu. For most server owners it is the control room — so setting it up properly on day one saves a lot of pain.

Short answer: Run the server artifacts without a server.cfg and txAdmin starts on port 40120. Open it in a browser, enter the PIN printed in the console, log in with your Cfx.re account to create the master admin, then either deploy a recipe (a ready-made server) or point txAdmin at your existing server data folder. From then on you manage the server — console, restarts, players, bans — from the web panel.

txAdmin Setup Guide: Install, First Run, Recipes and Daily Use

#First run

  1. Download the latest recommended server artifacts for your OS and extract them — see artifacts and updates.
  2. Start the server (FXServer.exe on Windows, ./run.sh on Linux) without pointing it at a server.cfg.
  3. The console prints a txAdmin address (port 40120) and a 4-digit PIN.
  4. Open the address in a browser, enter the PIN and log in with your Cfx.re account.
  5. Set a backup password for the master account.

#Scheduled restarts

Long-running servers accumulate entities and memory; most roleplay servers restart every 6–12 hours at fixed times. txAdmin warns players before each restart and restarts automatically after a crash. Timing and messaging are covered in scheduled restarts.

#The in-game menu

Staff with the right permissions can open txAdmin’s in-game menu (the /tx command) for noclip, teleport, spectate, heal and player actions, all logged in txAdmin. Permissions decide who sees which options — see txAdmin admins and permissions.
