Player slots on a FiveM server

The slot count is one line in server.cfg, but three things decide what you can set it to: FiveM’s technical limits, OneSync, and your Cfx.re subscription. Then there is the practical question — whether your hardware and scripts can carry the players you are inviting.

Short answer: Set the slot count with sv_maxclients (1–2048). More than 32 slots requires OneSync, and more than 64 requires OneSync set to on. Without a subscription a server can have up to 48 slots; more needs Element Club Argentum or higher on the account that owns the licence key. When the server is full, new players are refused unless a queue resource lets them wait or reserves slots for staff and priority players.

FiveM Max Players: sv_maxclients, OneSync and the 48-Slot Limit

#Setting the slot count

server.cfg
set onesync on
sv_maxclients 48

Put sv_maxclients in server.cfg (txAdmin reads it from there too). Hosting providers can cap it with txAdmin’s TXHOST_MAX_SLOTS setting to match the plan you bought.

#The limits

SlotsRequirement
1–32Works with or without OneSync
33–48OneSync; no subscription needed
49–64OneSync + Element Club Argentum or higher
65–2048onesync on + a higher Element Club tier (Platinum reaches 2048)

Check the Cfx.re Portal for the current slot limit of each tier.

Licence keys and subscriptions are covered in the licence key guide; OneSync itself in OneSync Infinity.

#When the server is full

  • Without extra resources, players trying to join a full server are refused.
  • Queue resources hold players in a line (shown through deferrals) and let them in as slots open.
  • Priority queues give staff, donators or whitelisted players a faster lane — keep it fair and transparent.
  • Some servers keep one or two slots free for staff with a reserved-slot queue.

#Do you need more slots?

Every extra player means more synced entities, more script work and more bandwidth. Check that the server stays smooth near your current limit — no hitch warnings, stable resmon — before raising it. See hardware requirements and hitch warnings.

Questions

How many players can a FiveM server have?
Technically up to 2048 with OneSync and the top subscription tier; up to 48 without a subscription.
How do I increase my FiveM server slots?
Raise sv_maxclients, enable OneSync, and for more than 48 slots subscribe to Element Club Argentum or higher on the key’s account.
Do I need OneSync for 64 players?
Yes. More than 32 slots require OneSync.
How do I add a queue to my server?
Use a queue resource that holds players in playerConnecting deferrals and admits them as slots free up.
